BOOK 1 BOOK 2 BOOK 3
Basic Introduction If you've never played this kind of game before, this is a role playing game or a story telling game. In this game players make up characters and tell exciting adventure stories together. The game rules give you a way to know what the characters in the story can do, and to see if they | | succeed at what they try to do. The characters in the story live in a fictional world full of action, adventure, mystery and whatever you want. It can be a world of comic book super heroes, a world of swords and sorcery, a science fiction setting with many worlds, or a time traveling, dimension hopping mixture of genres. |
Heres How You Play: One player called the game master (or G.M.) Creates a scenario featuring challenges for the players to overcome. He will set up the story by telling the players what their characters know. The G.M. Plays the roles of all of the people the players interact with (villains, allies and innocent bystanders). Any character not controled by a player is called a non-player character or npc. The other players (who are just called players) each create and control one character. They decide what their characters will do and together | | players and G.M. Will tell a story. Players have to work with the abilities and weaknesses of their characters to overcome the challenges set before them by the G.M. , While acting as the character would. Part of the challenge and fun is to play your character’s role even when you would never act that way yourself. For example if your city were under attack by an invading army you would probably run away, but your character is a hero so he will stand and fight the enemy; single handed, if he must. This is what makes for an adventure. |
Advanced Introduction
If you've been playing role playing games for years, as I have, you've seen a lot of games, and you'll ask yourself "what's special about this one ?" This game is really different. I promise. Though many of the differences will appeal largely to new gamers (or to tired old gamers like me) : It's easy to learn (with a minimum of jargon) and doesn't require any special dice (just regular 6 sided dice, like everyone already has). It's easy to play without a lot of math or tables. Just roll a number of dice equal to the stat you're using. A 5 or better is a success and an 11 or better is a critical success. This is not a detailed tactical r.P.G. Instead it captures the feel of the comics, like no other game since Villains & Vigilantes. You might not get bonuses for your brilliant strategies but you don't have to be a master of strategy to play. Anyone can play as a great martial artist without getting killed. It's been my experience that detailed tactical games are not only slow and complicated but often end up with every fight becoming a contest between the player and g.M. Which is a bad situation. The player and g.M. Are supposed to have fun together not be against each other. The game uses classes, to simplify character creation and give characters clear conceptions. But it uses a point system for selecting powers, so you can have an infinite variety of characters. And if you aren't shure just what you want it even includes a random character generation system. The biggest weakness of most building point systems is that they reward specialization. | | Characters with a variety of powers are ridiculously expensive to make and too weak to play. This game gets around that problem by not having base costs & power stats. As a result it's a much more balanced system. Of course if you want to specialize, you can easily do so by taking powers that complement each other. You can even say that several of your powers come from using one in a special way. Classes are balanced so that no matter what kind of character you decide to play, you can make a real contribution to the team and even hold your own against players of other classes. Experience levels are used because players love to advance in levels, but the point awards are based on achieving goals not on mindlessly smashing as many oponents as you can. There are no combat points to keep track of or run out of during the fight. Instead, characters use their powers. So you have a clear idea how powerful a character really is. This is the only R.P.G. To give careful attention to chase scenes, so that weaker oponents can present an interesting challenge by having a chance to get away. There's no abstract wealth/ resources stat, that you probably wouldn't use anyway. There are no charisma and reaction rules, you just role play the way that makes sense to the players and G.M. There are no complicated inventing rules. If you want to invent stuff, just get new powers like everyone else and say you invented them. There is a well developed gaming environment, including descriptions of the genre, the city of technopolis and numerous creatures and characters. Finally if you want to change your character, even completely redesign him, this game makes it a lot easier than most. |
COMMING SOON The Next ediition of the game is being processed now and will be released by March 1 (sooner if I'm able). It contains all of the game in one book, and a tremendous number of improvements to the game, honestly it's a Whole new Game, but with the same simple formula.

ALSO COMMING SOON
(well, one day anyway)
I know, I know, this has been shown as comming soon for a really long time and it still isn't here. Well, not only have I been working on a lot of other stuff, but my computer crashed hard recently and I had to do a system recovery which deleted all of my work. I also lost the editable versions of my books and I'm having to recreate them before I can do anything else with them. So sadly it might be quite a while before this book gets here. Sorry , but it really is comming one of these days.
